Project Description:
A young growing family resided on this property in a “split-level” with few options for expansion due to a non-conforming footprint which presented both zoning and spatial challenges. Despite the valid attempts to renovate/transform structure, a new home was the ultimate solution. With a narrow site (50 x 150) lot and a 3600 square foot requirement, the design team worked closely with the owner to sculpt a variety of meaningful spaces and volumes with hexagonal Victorian patterns that are highly efficient in offering varied site-lines throughout the home. The wrap-around front porch leads into the entry hall and a soaring stair tower with curved stairs. A copper turreted roof cap adds the ultimate Victorian touch. The distinctive windows with diamond-light patterns and gothic patterned bring abundant day light as well as an appreciation for the rich architectural heritage which is found along the Jersey Shore.
