Why Design Build?

What is Design Build?

Traditionally, the design and construction phases of a project are handled by multiple entities, such as architects, general contractors, builders and sub-contractors. We believe a much more effective approach is the 'design/build' delivery process, which provides a single-team approach to managing the entire project from inception to completion. It creates a single source of responsibility for planning, cost controls, permitting and building a project.

Benefits of Design Build

Communication between the service provider and the client is greatly enhanced, making the client’s dreams more of a reality and budgetary needs more abided by.

The client only needs to deal with one entity with issues such as design revisions, project feedback, budgeting, permitting, construction issues, change orders, and billing, which greatly increases flexibility.

The project feedback system is value based. In a design-build context, the owner, the owner's other consultants, and the design-builder can work together to determine what methods and materials will maximize the owner's value.

The client will often save money because of the combined effects of carrying a construction loan (which typically carries a higher interest rate than permanent financing) and an earlier useful on-line date usually yields considerable overall value to the project.
